Log

Privacy Policy

The short version: Log collects no data. Not “minimal data.” None.

Where your entries live

Everything you capture with Log — text, voice notes, transcripts, photos, videos, files and locations — is stored on your devices and, if you're signed in to iCloud, in your personal iCloud database. Sync happens directly between your devices and Apple's iCloud using your own Apple ID. Nothing is ever transmitted to us or to anyone else. We could not read your entries even if we wanted to.

What we collect

Nothing. Log has no user accounts, no analytics, no crash-reporting SDKs, no advertising identifiers and no third-party code. The app makes no network connections except to Apple's iCloud on your behalf.

On-device processing

Voice notes are transcribed using Apple's on-device speech recognition — audio never leaves your device for transcription. Location is captured only when you explicitly ask (for example, “Hey Siri, Log my location”) and is stored like any other entry: yours, in your iCloud.

Your data, your exit

Log can export your complete archive — entries, media and a readable digest — at any time, with no restrictions. Deleting the app and its iCloud data removes everything permanently.

Apple's role

iCloud storage and sync are provided by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Apple's platform protections (including encryption in transit and at rest) apply to your iCloud data.

Changes and contact

If this policy ever changes, the change will be posted here with a new effective date. Questions: log@bobobrien.net.
